Enrolment Process

Taikura warmly welcomes enquiries from all families interested in Rudolf Steiner education from early childhood up to high school.

Kindergarten Enrolment and Waiting List Process

We have two kindergartens, one on the school site (Kererū Kindergarten) and one across the road (Taikura Kindergarten). Both kindergartens are licensed for 40 children from 2 – 6 years old. Children are able to be placed on the waiting list once they are born.

To go on the waiting list, we invite families in for a kindergarten enquiry visit first. During the visit, you will have a chance to look around the kindergarten, find out about our Special Character, the financial commitment, and ask any questions you have. Information is also provided on the school waiting list and enrolment process. At the enquiry visit, you will be provided with a waiting list form, if you are interested in going onto the waiting list, you can at this point.

More information about the kindergarten and our playgroups can be found on the kindergarten page on our website.

We currently have spaces in the kindergarten for tamariki aged 3 – 5 years.

School Enrolment and Waiting List Process

Taikura Rudolf Steiner School is a Special Character School and we have an enrolment scheme which we need to follow when filling available places.  Our Enrolment Scheme and School Waiting List & Enrolment Procedure can be found below.

As part of our enrolment scheme, all families need to show a connection to the Special Character of our school, this is done through a Special Character Interview.  If a family is able to show a connection to the Special Character, we are able to place your children on the waiting list at that time. There is no cost to go onto the school waiting list.

The Special Character Interview Request form is below.  If you decide that our school would be a good fit for your children and your family, please complete the form in as much detail as possible and return to the Enrolments Registrar when you are ready for an interview.

To find out more about our Special Character, we have a number of events happening throughout the year that interested families are welcome to attend – please see the Special Character Events document below. Our website will have the latest information about upcoming events such as class plays, community assemblies, school tours, and festivals.  Our weekly school newsletter is also on the website.

We currently have spaces available in Class 2 (Year 3), Class 10 (Year 11) and Class 11 (Year 12).
