At Taikura our three core values are Respect, Kindness and Perseverance which we actively work with on a daily basis with our ākonga as part of Te Tāhuhu o Taikura. As kaiako we work consciously with a fourth value of Gratitude and cultivate an experience of this for our students.
Respect – Whakaute
Kia mau ki ngā kupu o ōu tupuna – Hold fast to the words of your ancestors.
Kindness – Atawhai
Mā te ngākau aroha koe e ārahi – Let a loving heart guide your decisions.
Perseverance – Manawanui
Whāia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe, me he maunga teitei – Seek the treasure you value most dearly. If you bow your head, let it be to a lofty mountain.
Gratitude – Ngākau reka
